So the first tip is if u want ur elf to look super cute then bye em a Jersey if u have a boy or tutu if u have a girl:)
And next Write notes to ur elf's every night sure in the movie it just shows kids telling ur elf's but people try that and it doesn't usually work so just to be safe write notes. Even if u don't have anything to tell write a letter to them tell them what u did at school they may not of heard u tell ur mom.
Watch them often so that they know u appreciate that there staying with u.
Make a little bed for them out of wash cloths and mini pillow if u have them.
Tell them they are welcome anywhere but upstairs cuz they do bad stuff upstairs like cut ppls hairs make messy rooms and even more bad stuff.
If u have any pets keep them away from ur elf it happened to my friend Riley shout out to Riley LOL so her dog got on their kitchen table and ripped there elf apart including his head.
Whisper in ur elfs ear I love u often so he\she can feel ur love for he/she.
